South Tulsa Music Festival*Artists and Crafters*

Please consider joining South Tulsa Music Festival in its first year of getting Tulsa's local music heard. This outdoor music fest will have an eclectic group of bands, that is sure to satisfy your musical palette. It will be held August 1, from 4 o'clock pm to whenever the last band has been heard! So meet me at Elm Street Pub in Jenks, Oklahoma. Let's have a drink or a bite to eat, just be ready to bear witness to musical splendor!!!

So you're wondering where you come in, right? Well, the director of this festival has showed some serious interest in getting crafters and artists there to join this awesome event! What could make for a better for night? I mean crafting and live music...somebody pinch me! So this is how it may go down. You can reserve your spot for only 20 bucks. You will need to provide your own table. The marketplace will open at 2 pm. Set up will begin at noon. If You need more time, let me know. Since it is an outdoor event, we may not have access to electricity. If there are areas that have electricity, I will send out an email immediately. As of right now we have room for about 20-30 tables. If we don't have at least 20 tables, we may not participate. We really want vendors with full tables that are ready to "work their table" and make some moulah! Live artists, we want you too. So get your gear and be ready to sell your art! Get the word out, call your friends, forward this email to people you know this would interest. Because, I really need a head count so we can make this happen for us. If you have any questions, shoot me back an email and I will get you a quick answer.

Thanks for taking time away from your sewing machines, knitting needles, earring posts, brushes, glitter, and glue! I hope to see you at S.T.M.F!!

Lady Fingers

This past Tuesday, during the beautiful afternoon, my sweet daughter notified that she was no longer going to suck her two fingers. That she was a girl now and didn't need to do it. My heart yelped as she told me this. Why now all of the sudden? Admittedly though, I'd been a bit concerned about it recently. Is she too old? Does it look bad to other people? But really, it's not like she's still on the breast right? So I gave it up in my head and said to heck with it. None the less, I was still shocked when she brought it up to me. Of course I encouraged to do what made her happy and we both went on. (whimper, whimper)
Fast forward two nights.
While putting the girls to bed, I noticed Papaya sucking her fingers. Very nonchalantly I reminded her that she was done with that.
Fast as lighting response, "I know, but my fingers keep asking me too."

My love,

Now, I know I haven't been faithful to you my dear blog. I certainly do love thee, although I know I have a hard time of showing it. I promise, from here on out, to make an honest effort to pay more attention to you, listen to your needs and try, with all my heart, to carry them out thoughtfully.
Love,
Fancy

P.S. Here's a hint of what's happening in my life. Did you happen to notice the clippers in my beauty case?...my beauty school case! I'm on my way to becoming a full fledged Beauty Operator!
P.S.S. I decoupaged this old samsonite case with some images from a book that I love. And being that I'm Hispanic, I just had to show some flair.

And then there was light.....

Picture it. Tulsa, Oklahoma. Early Monday, 1:30 a.m. My husband begins saying "oh no. oh no." I wake up and he informs me that we have no electricity. Great. We've known about this ice storm for a few days now and sadly, we've known about the potential for power outage, and did nothing to prepare for it. Knowing that I have to get up at 5:30 for work, I begin to panic and plan. First plan of action, send husband to the store for candles for light, firewood for warmth, and batteries for the flashlight. He returns with six D batteries, one, ONE mind you Duraflame log, ("but it lasts 3 hours!") and 12 minute lasting matches and two Glade candles. WHAT???? I begin to freak. The flashlight doesn't work with the new batteries. The candles were...well, there were only two! And they were three something a piece! And one log. Excuse me. ONE LOG!!! (they are pretty cool though) And long lasting matches for the great log that lights up in 2 seconds tops!

Me to hubby: "Thanks John Wayne. Thanks."

Long story short, four days later we have our power back. I also now realize how I take everyday things for granted. And how I'm so pitifully self-reliant on these things.
I pray that all of my friends are well and safe. And thanks sweets for braving the ice storm and going to the store with the intent to help us.

Gobble, gobble..

...and one worn out monkey. I knew it was time to leave the in-laws house when Olive brings me her coat and preps her arm for it. Today was a busy day for us as we visited with family all day. The appetizers kept coming, dinner was perfect, and desserts and treats couldn't be sweeter. Thank you mom-in-law!
Now, for a night of baking. I had, what I thought at the time, a great idea to start a baking club at work, I named it "Let's Get Baked". Cute, huh?
Well, after today, I could use a night of recovery rest. Oh well, I'll let you know how the first "bake meet-up" goes.

Before I go, I hope all of you had a wonderful holiday with your loved ones.
Cheers to you and yours!
